Being your best starts with a good night’s sleep.

A medicare approved alternative to CPAP.

The Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD):

Mandibular Advancement Devices, often called MADs, are custom-made oral appliances used to treat obstructive sleep apnea and chronic snoring. Worn while you sleep, they gently move the lower jaw forward to help keep the airway open and reduce breathing interruptions.

For many people, MAD therapy is a comfortable and effective alternative to CPAP. This is especially true for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea or for those who have difficulty tolerating masks, noise, or sleeping with a machine. Oral appliances do not require hoses, electricity, or bulky equipment, making them quiet, portable, and easy to use both at home and while traveling.

Modern MADs are designed using advanced digital technology and are custom fit to each patient’s unique anatomy. Many devices are adjustable, allowing treatment to be refined over time to improve comfort and results. When properly prescribed and monitored, oral appliance therapy is a clinically supported option that is recommended by sleep physicians and dental sleep specialists.

Because no two patients are the same, we offer multiple FDA-cleared oral appliance systems. This allows us to match each patient with the device that best fits their needs, comfort preferences, and treatment goals, rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

A Provider That is MAD About Snoring:

Everyday we strive to be our best, and that starts with a good night’s sleep.
— Dr. William C Poe V

Dr. Poe is the founder of Silent Sleep and Health and has spent more than 30 years caring for patients through orthodontics and TMJ treatment. Over the course of his career, he began to recognize a common underlying issue affecting many of his patients: undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea. That realization sparked a deeper exploration into sleep health and ultimately reshaped the focus of his practice.

Committed to providing the best possible care, Dr. Poe has completed extensive continuing education across the United States, studying sleep apnea from its root causes through modern treatment options. While CPAP therapy has long been considered the gold standard for treating sleep apnea, Dr. Poe saw firsthand how difficult it can be for patients to use consistently. Bulky equipment, noise, travel challenges, and discomfort often lead to poor compliance, limiting its real-world effectiveness.

In searching for a more patient-friendly solution, Dr. Poe began incorporating Mandibular Advancement Devices into his treatment approach. With years of specialized training in sleep medicine and oral appliance therapy, he now helps patients manage sleep apnea using custom-fit devices selected specifically for their anatomy, lifestyle, and treatment goals. At Silent Sleep and Health, the focus is not just on fitting an appliance, but on choosing the right one for each individual.

Dr. Poe holds an Associate of Science degree from Cypress College, a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology from UCLA, and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California. His practice was founded with a clear mission: to improve access to effective, comfortable sleep apnea care.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Poe is deeply involved in his community and was honored as Los Alamitos Man of the Year in 2020. He believes that better sleep leads to better health, stronger relationships, and a better quality of life.
